Nissan Patrol is one of the favorite desert-ship for Arabs. After the launch of its arch rival new Toyota Land Cruiser, Nissan is all set to launch the latest version of its robust SUV by next year. Worldcarfans.com recently revealed the spy photos of 2010 Nissan Patrol (also known as Safari in certain market) caught while undergoing final round of test at Dubai.
Nissan has not made the Patrol available in the US market so far, but it seems the new one could do very well be due to the discontinuation of the similarly-sized Nissan Armada and the Infiniti QX56. Nissan always has give a muscular design for Patrol which help them look macho & aggressive.
Anyhow Nissan has given some softer touches which include an integrated rear LED lights, but we can expect the Patrol to look rough and rugged off-roader. Nissan’s patented All Mode AWD system is rumoured to be as easy to use as Land Rover’s All Terrain system which basically requires the driver to select the prevailing road situation through a knob and just drive.
The interior shots reveal that the Patrol will retain the plushy luxurious interior with all the equipments like leather seats, climate control, rear-seat entertainment, sat-navigation, LCD displays, etc.
Some reports says that the engine lineup will consist of a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel producing 195kW (265hp) and 549Nm (405 ft-lbs) of torque, a 4.0-litre V6 currently used in the Nissan Navara and Pathfinder, as well as a 4.8-litre V8 which was developed for the Armada.
