To commemorate the centenary of the brand, Audi’s took the strain to bring down the heritage 1935 model Audi Front 225 Roadster, all the way from Germany. Audi Front 225 roadster was built on the chassis to serve as an attention-grabbing highlight on the Auto Union stand at the 1935 International Motor Show in Berlin. The design originated from the body engineering office of the Horch plant, where a roadster for the new chassis of the “big” Horch with its eight-cylinder in-line engine was also being produced for the same occasion.

Underneath the Audi’s exterior was the overhauled engineering of the front-wheel-drive Audi with central box-type frame first unveiled in 1933 and the Wanderer six-cylinder power unit that had been uprated to a 2.3litre displacement and an output of 50hp. The fact that the gearbox still had to be positioned in front of the engine almost doubled the bonnet’s length, giving the car an especially elegant look.

The roadster succeeded in causing the intended stir at the show. One of the two prototypes was sold to a businessman from the town of Gütersloh in North Rhine-Westphalia. This vehicle is an authentic replica which was built on the basis of a contemporary Audi Front chassis by the car restorer Werner Zinke in Zwönitz, Saxony.

Audi Sportback Concept – With systematic refinements to the brand’s characteristic design elements, this five-door model offers a glimpse at Audi’s future design vocabulary. Sportback with its pronounced coupé-like silhouette and large rear hatch, is boldly progressive for the luxury class.

The technology of the Audi Sportback concept is markedly futuristic. Power is provided by the s claimed world’s cleanest diesel technology: the 3.0-liter V6 TDI clean diesel almost completely eliminates nitrogen oxides. This engine already meets the emissions limits of the EU6 standard scheduled to take effect in 2014. Numerous measures to ensure top efficiency mean that the Audi Sportback concept is expected to achieve impressive fuel consumption figures of 5.9 liters of diesel per 100km.

Audi India has also displayed their whole line-up from the R8 supercar to A4 sedan. Audi’s flagship A8 W12 was lined up along with the A6 3.0TDI Quattro, largest selling luxury SUV in the country the Q7, mini SUV Q5, sports model TT, etc.
